The Google content network can be a huge traffic source. But most marketers make a big mistakes – they don’t use image ads.
But that’s what makes the difference – good image ads get much higher CTRs (Click Through Rate) than text ads which means cheaper bid prices. I run campaigns for as low as 4 or 5 cents bid prices in very competitive markets.
How to create image ads?
There are 8 different image ad formats and it can sometimes be a little tricky to create them if you are not a designer. I use a software called Snagit to create my basic ads, they often look a little ugly but they still get good CTRs.
Today I found a Banner Ad Wizard Software which automates the whole image ad creating process. And the software is given away for free during the launch of a new traffic course. I tested the software today and it is awesome. The banner ad wizard leads you step-by-step to the image creation process. It can even create dynamic (animated gif or flash) ads.

Google Cash Detective vs PPCBully2 review:
Let’s do a real life campaign and search for direct linking campaigns for the popular Clickbank product Fat Loss 4 Idiots (you are not limited to spy on direct linking campaigns for both tools).
Here is the Google Cash Detective search:
GCD found 770 affiliates using direct linking campaigns for fat loss 4 idiots.
Here the results for http://www.PPC-Bully2.com:
PPCBully2 returns 21089 ads which are currently promoting Fat Loss 4 Idiots.
You can see that PPCBully shows all running ads. GCD lists all keywords for each affiliate. In my opinion it’s a little easier to identify profitable campaigns with PPC Bully 2 as you don’t have to dig through all the keywords.
One other advantage of PPCBully 2 is the filter, where you can drill down the search results much easier. In PPC Bully you can just enter the Clickbank affiliate or vendor name or CPA network urls to search for running ad campaigns, while you need to enter urls in GCD (although you can search with wild cards).
One downside of PPCBully 2 is the search history which starts in April 2009. Google Cash Detective’s data goes back to October 2008 which makes the search results more relevant at the moment.
Final Conclusion:
Both are great spy tools and the main difference is the user interface for the search results. I personally find the PPC Bully2 interface a little easier to use and you can find profitable ads quicker than with GCD. If you are a serious Affiliate Marketer I recommend to have at least one of these spy tools in your arsenal. You’ll find profitable campaigns much easier and will save money that you would waste with testing otherwise.
